Depression sucks. Many people talk about it.
But paying it forward is nice, as PJ Schnyder is doing at RT Booklover’s Convention.
The Hugo slate was announced. There are many things to be happy and annoyed about. But the core issue is, read the works, vote as you see fit.
And we talk to Adam Christopher, author of the Burning Dark* and long-time listener of the show!
You know, at some point you’d think I would get jealous of people who started writing seriously after starting to listen to me, and then their career took off like gangbusters and outpaced me something terrible, but I still am just absolutely giddy to hear success stories from listeners.
And don’t forget, the Storium Kickstarter is still going strong, and you can always support the podcast via Patreon!

Finally we have Captain Spaulding videos! I had a barrel of problems with video, again. Sometime I think Final Cut has it in for me. But we have the first video where Jim and I test two recipes.
Considering the weird legalities with contests, I’m just going to send a signed book to everyone who sent me a recipe. I’ll be emailing people for addresses soon!

I go through the feedback. Note, I didn’t get to all the feeback because I will soon have an interview with my agent, Jen Udden, and will ask her the remaining questions.
Hey! Did you know I have a Patreon account?* Support me and save puppies from giant hawk attacks! (or just support the show. That works too)
*not mentioned in the show because I set it up after I recorded this.

I was delighted to interview 2013 Campbell nominee, Max Gladstone, and I only held onto the interview for like 3 months. And then realized we got cut off at the end. BUT IT IS A GOOD INTERVIEW DANGIT.
I also give my opinions of reading the fine print, told in the perspective of the Amtrak Writer’s Residency idea.

Recorded early January, I’m just now getting this up. Sorry about that. But I talked to Teri Karobonik, an IP lawyer who got her career idea from a show I did a very long time ago!
