    Hey Mur,

I’m not bragging here I hit 50k a few days ago and have been writing ever since… I know its strange but since I didn’t hit the end today I don’t feel ok claiming my win….am I weird? I love my story and my characters and did aweful things to them… I want to honestly hit the end…

    Hope your holidays were great,..

  2. A.G. Lindsay says:

Hi Mur. I did manage to get to 50K (and a little!), and my “reward” is to continue writing every day (just not at this particular pace!) since my story isn’t done.

I decided to do NaNoWriMo as a sort of experiment which really had nothing to do with the amount of words. I learned a great deal. I learned that even though I am not a morning person, I like writing in the morning. I learned that having an interesting character and a couple of incidents she goes through is not really enough for an entire novel. I learned that I REALLY need some kind of outline or I’m all over the place.

I even learned that a great deal of the things I learned when training to be a tech writer were surprisingly applicable to fiction.

(I learned that Twitter is a huge time suck and unless you know people on there, actually kind of boring.)

So thanks for the NaNoWriMo episodes, and don’t feel that you failed us because you didn’t get them up every day. You certain gave me enough encouragement through what you did post that you shouldn’t feel the need to apologize.

These episodes are and were much appreciated, Mur. They really helped me keep the rate up in the middle. Otherwise I wouldn’t have gotten to the 50k.

Given how much podcasting you did this month I’d say you could legitimately feel like you won too!

  4. Micarina says:

Thank you for your inspirational podcasts during NaNoWriMo. I know that they were one of the things that kept me going. I’m sorry that you didn’t get to finish. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving, and that your refrigerator feels better (I can’t imagine a worse thing than a fridge giving out near Thanksgiving! Well, I can, but I digress)

Anyway, just thank you for sharing yourself with us aspiring writers this November and around the year.

  5. Gregory says:

    Hi Mur…

I do what to thank you for the podcast… I know it was an extra extra burden this month because of all the crazy that is becoming November… I loved the daily visits with you and credit your support with hitting word count… And with me thought I wanted to finish the story no matter how I feel about it… Thank you Mut..
