ISBW NaNoWriMo Special Episode 7 – Help! I’ve written into a corner!

That lovely mental image of the painter, painting the floor, and the whole floor is done and the painter is in the corner, with no escape. What should she do?

    Helo,

I’m an aspiring author going on ten or fifteen years now, ever since I was a kid. I’ve been writing most of that time, too. Your show is helping me push through to the end of my novel in progress, which is on pace to hit 190 thousand words (yikes). Unfortunately, it is a big, complicated story that won’t leave me alone until I get it written and finished. I think some people would call it my “heart novel.” I am of an uncommonly stubborn breed (thus I’m still trying to make a career out of writing), so there’s a good chance I will succeed somewhere down the line, even if it takes fifty years (I sure hope it’s sooner!).

As of now, I have never submitted anything, and even though I’ve started writing this novel over ten times, I have never finished it. Through all those rewrites, however, I have improved my skill, and I’m confident that I will somehow break through the mental blocks this time and write the END of the story for the very first time. Your podcast will play a big role in spurring me on. Thank you very much!

    Bryant
