Mur Lafferty is an award-winning science fiction and fantasy novelist, veteran podcaster, blogger, and essayist.

Mur’s novels are published by Orbit Books and Saga Press, and she holds an MFA in popular fiction from the Stonecoast program at the University of Southern Maine.

Mur has been podcasting since 2004. She’s won the Podcast Peer Award and three Parsec Awards, and her show Ditch Diggers was a finalist for the 2017 Hugo Award for Best Fancast. In 2015 Mur was inducted into the Podcaster Hall of Fame. Aside from her ongoing podcasts, I Should Be Writing, which has been going strong for over a decade, and Ditch Diggers, which she co-hosts with Matt Wallace, she’s created podcasts for Tor.com, Lulu, and Angry Robot Books.

Mur is currently the co-editor (with Divya Breed) of the Escape Artists podcast zine: Mothership Zeta, and has previously been the editor of Pseudopod and Mothership Zeta.

She lives in Durham, NC, with her husband and daughter.
