Mur featured in Asimov’s column
This past May when I attended Balticon, I spent some time with James Patrick Kelly to talk about podcasting novels and the direction it’s taking. I am unabashed in my admiration for JPK, not just as a Huge and Nebula winning author, but he’s one of the few established authors who gets new media and where it has the potential to go. He also teaches quite a bit at workshops like Clarion, Viable Paradise, and the University of Southern Maine’s Stonecoast MFA program, so he has a unique view of the world of publishing; he has the wisdom of a veteran but his constant communication with new writers keeps him abreast of what we’re facing in publishing with changing technology and editors’ expectations. I always enjoy my chats with him; he’s a generous man with his time and advice, and I know fewer people more patient.
So I was thrilled to get an email from him yesterday saying that his article featuring our interview had gone live. He writes a column for Asimov’s called On The Net and this month’s (and, I think, next month’s too!) features interviews with me, Tee Morris and JC Hutchins about the direction of podcast novels. Check out Jim’s column, and if you haven’t picked up the latest Asimov’s, you should, as it has a new Nancy Kress story.
