The News From Poughkeepsie - Day 77

Settings Tuesdays:

The dark underbelly of the Girl Scouts of America have been hinted at, and people don’t seem to be too concerned. But what people don’t know is that the secret society that runs the cookie operation, chooses the new badges, and chooses the troop leaders is the Alpha 10, a scout who wins in an endurance and puzzle competition.

The latest Alpha 10 has been unprecedented - a Brownie by the name of Susie Barrow, 6 years old, beat out the previous Alpha 10 in both the martial arts and the sodoku challenges. A new era of scouting was on the horizon, and no one knew what to expect.
