They called me the other day. You know. Them. They from “that’s what they say.” I had applied to join “some people”, but They said I’d be better suited to join them.

It’s hard work, being part of Them. We (They) meet in a large room with a black oak table and doughnuts are delivered by young women in starch white delivery uniforms and paper hats. The women are all doughnut bicycle messengers. After we (They) get the doughnuts, it’s time for the meeting. I can’t tell you what goes on, but let me just say that the day I got a lemon-filled doughnut instead of chocolate with sprinkles, we (They) made a new saying involved Britney Spears.
