7th Son Obsidian Launches!
I’ve been stoked about this project for quite some time, folks. JC Hutchins approached me a while ago and asked if I wanted to play in his world and write a story based on an event that happened in his epic podcast series, 7th Son.
If someone asks you if you’re a god, you say yes.
The concept is simple – the United States suffers a major grid failure and goes into a two-week blackout. Wanna know why, or what happens to some very interesting characters who also happen to be clones? Listen to 7th Son. But what JC wanted to know was what happened to the rest of the population during that time? So that’s what he invited us to write about.
“Us” consists of Michael A. Stackpole, Scott Sigler, Christiana Ellis, Tee Morris, Mark Yoshimoto Nemcoff, and my arch-nemesis and good friend, Matt f’kn Wallace*. It’s awesome to be involved with such talented names in fiction, and I can’t wait to hear what they came up with. Right now, Obsidian has launched with Tee Morris’ story, Miles To Go Before I Sleep. Fans of Hutchins will also appreciate the big reveal of what his second novel, nicknamed CODE PHANTOM, is in the chatty parts of the podcast. We’ve just been waiting forever, ya big secretive jerk.
I’m not sure when my story will air, or even if I’m allowed to reveal the name, but I will put it in the Murverse feed (ain’t Creative Commons grand?). But you shouldn’t need that, since you will be going to JCHutchins.net to subscribe to OBSIDIAN, yes?
*(when Matt did his blog post about this, he listed me first. I listed him last; yanno how they put “with” and “and” at the end of TV credits to make you know they saved the best for last? Matt is still going to give me shit, though.)

Comment by Matt Wallace on 2 June 2008:
Oh, I see. So what you’re saying is that in the opening credits of life I would be Alexis Denisof. I’m the WESLEY of this deal. This is what you think of me. And I should feel complimented.
I’m adding this to the list. Oh, yes. COUNT ON IT.
