You know how the “hooker with a heart of gold” thing has been overdone? It’s such a surprise! She’s a hooker, a lady of the night, a slut, but she collects precious moments figurines and calls her grandmother on her birthday! She’s a real person!

Last night I was watching an episode of CSI off the TiVo, and they had a character with a thin face, black goatee, and a black turtleneck. My immediate thought was “asshole”. Then I wondered - what is it about the black turtleneck that makes a character an asshole? It brings to mind pretentious French poets, or perhaps cat burgler. Then it hit me.

The French cat burgler with a heart of gold. Yes.

    Nice. Sorta reminds me of the Simpsons episode with the cat burgler in the retirement home. If I remember correctly it was done somewhat like that–he gave everyone’s stuff back, even if he did distract them to find fake treasure so that he could escape. Hell, considering how long it’s been out, that show’s pretty much done every idea under the sun.
