MacGuffin Wednesdays:
I love quests for the magical blade. I know it’s tired and I know it’s cliche, but I have a firm belief that cliches can always be reawakened and viewed from a different angle. How about if the metal from Excalibur was recast as a chef’s knife, a pocket knife, and the metal teeth from a steel sculpture of a dog? And, in this present day, our hero is driven to find each part of Excalibur. (S)He doesn’t know why, but (s)he must find each part before the sword can have its full strength again.
