Podiobooks authors getting more national attention

I’m sick again, so pardon the brevity.

I was thrilled today to see that The Washington Post gave some love to some of my favorite colleagues in the podiobook world, JC Hutchins, Scott Sigler and Cory Doctorow. It’s an excellent article and shows just what our medium is capable of bringing to the literary world.

  • JC’s book,  7th Son, will be coming out next year from St. Martin’s Press, and in the meantime he’s letting people play in his sandbox via the Obsidian project. I blogged about this earlier - he’s still looking for audio and video submissions to round out this fan-driven concept, so I highly recommend checking out the book and seeing what you can do to participate.
  • Scott’s book, Infected, came out April 1 and is doing quite well. He just finished his book tour (didn’t come near NC, dammit) and is going back to writing horrific stuff.
  • And Cory is using his podcast, Craphound, to podcast his fabulous fiction but also promote his upcoming book, Little Brother. Cory’s also doing a US tour, but not NC.

I always get excited when the podcasting authors get attention, cause it helps out everyone podcasting content (and, yeah, they deserve it, too… big time).

  1. Hope you feel better soon!

  2. A) get better
    B) no love for Mur in the article?
    C) Noticed you on the “best self promoters” thing on Wired (though initially it was sorted funky and I was way impressed you came on the list before howard stern and Bill Gates, but then I resorted and you appeared to only be beating out Calicanus and Scoble).
