  • Roadblocks: Playing For Keeps kerfuffles got me a late start. Pause in the middle for lunch. Had to map a route on Google Maps to make sure my characters were going where they needed to go.

In other news we had a bit of fish drama here yesterday, with the Pink Tornado putting half a can of fish food into the tank. In cleaning it out, I removed too much of the water, which shocked the goldfish and, well, it’s an ex-goldfish. When we got home, there were tears, sadness, and a plea for another fish, “or a parrot.”

Went to the pet store, learned what I did wrong, and got Bettas, which are supposed to be hardier than goldfish. We learned that two females could live together, so we got two, a blue and red. “Magical” and “Butterfly” are their names. Magical is the blue, I think, and she’s already terrorizing Butterfly, who hides in the plant. Sigh. Will we ever be free of fish drama?
