Blatantly ripping off Eric Rice…

Eric recently posted: Why I’m unfollowing you on Twitter. I think this was an interesting post, focusing mostly on how if you don’t follow each other, you don’t have an open communication because if someone isn’t following you, you don’t see their messages to you. It’s a flawed, although popular, system.
I have reasons I unfollow people, but they’re a lot more personal that Eric Rice’s reason.
- I unfollow when someone posts something that’s either Too Much Information or just plain old icky. I’ve unfollowed people for complaining about their sex lives to describing a bowel movement.
- If you are someone I don’t know at all, and you post somethingwithalotofcharactersandnobreak and that pushes the Twitter table out which makes everyone’s tweets look really long and get lost in the icon sidebar, I unfollow. That annoys me, and if I dont know you, my incentive to keep following you is low.
- If you post too often with meaningless posts, I unfollow.
- If your twitter is ONLY used as another place to announce blog (or utterz) posts, I unfollow. (Obviously I don’t mind “in addition to” posts, cause I use them!)
- If you follow me and then I follow you and then you post rude things about me, well, that kinda goes without saying.
